In a world where the drive to "niche out" is prevalent, establishing one's artistic expertise can be extremely difficult. Some artists build out a niche for themselves by using a certain media, but others stand out for their distinct artistic techniques.

When asked about my personal artistic style, I frequently find myself at a loss for words. I belong to a group of creatives who enjoy experimenting with a variety of mediums and approaches. To be honest, I'm far from an expert in any given artistic medium. For me, everything that elicits beauty is unquestionably art. I enjoy exploring different materials and styles that attract my interest. Despite this creative experimentation, one constant remains: my fascination with flowers. Thus, I gladly identify as a botanical artist, or someone who uses the essence of botanical components to create art.

Admittedly, the title "botanical artist" may raise some eyebrows. To avoid confusion, I initially chose the safer term "mixed-media artist". However, as I dug deeper, I realized that "botanical art" is a recognized genre, covering any artwork that celebrates the beauty of plants and their natural environments. As a result, those of us who create such artwork are appropriately referred to as botanical artists.

While botanical artists may not have an encyclopedic understanding of a plant's technical intricacies, we do have the unique capacity to improve its visual appeal through artistic innovation. Understanding my artistic identity provides me with a profound sense of self-awareness, as it delineates both my preferred medium and stylistic approach. Moreover, it serves to delineate my position within the art sphere.

Yes, I am a botanical artist who uses a variety of mediums and techniques to create works with the enchanting presence of plants. Flowers are a constant source of inspiration for me, whether I'm drawing, sculpting, or conserving genuine blooms in resin. I occasionally create floral compositions from the depths of my imagination, blurring the boundaries between truth and fancy.

At the heart of my artistic journey lies a humble pursuit of aesthetic refinement. Botanical art, for me, is more than just representation; it's about capturing the innate beauty of each plant part, using a variety of mediums and techniques to do honor to nature's creation. It's a continual exploration, a humble attempt to convey the intricacies of botanical wonder. Through my work, I aspire to inspire a deeper appreciation for the exquisite details and unparalleled splendor found within the natural world.
