Floral Embroidery: A Step-by-Step Guide
Thank you for getting this floral embroidery kit I prepared just for you!
A little bit of history 😊
Floral embroidery doesn’t use thread like traditional embroidery. Instead, it uses dried flowers and tulle to create delicate, nature-inspired patterns. This technique was invented in Moldova by Olga Prinku, a botanical artist who brought the beauty of flowers into the world of embroidery.
Before we begin, I’d like you to remember one thing: let go and relax as you work on your pattern. This is not about perfection, it’s about creativity and enjoying the process.

Step 1 – Choose Your Pattern
Decide on the type of design you want. You can go for something symmetrical, minimal, or wild and organic—it’s completely up to you.
Step 2 – Prepare Your Flowers
Cut your dried flowers so that the stems are neat and free from anything that might prevent them from sliding through the tulle holes.
Step 3 – Glue and Insert the Flowers
Using your brush, apply glue to the back of the flower, including the stem. Then, gently insert the glued flower into the tulle according to your chosen pattern.
Step 4 – Continue Building Your Design
Add and glue each flower one by one, inserting them into the tulle until your entire pattern is complete.
Step 5 – Keep the Hoop Flat
Refrain from lifting the embroidery hoop while you work—this helps keep your flowers in place.
Step 6 – Check and Dry
Make sure everything is completely dry before lifting your hoop. For a fresh perspective, stand up and view your work from above to ensure everything is balanced.
I hope you enjoy making your floral embroidery piece. Remember, every flower tells its own story, and now you get to arrange them in yours! 🌸
